Kimberly,

Congratulations on such a warm review by Abby the Librarian. I can't wait to read your book--I love that kind of setting. I was flattered by the comparison of our books.

I will tell you not one but two things about me and Louisiana: A friend I used to know, his grandmother lived in the family home that once was a plantation. When she died, she still owned many acres around the house. He showed me a picture of it. Oh, what a grand house. A white two story facing the back because there was a river view. It was set on a hill. He told me it was all original wood in the house. (Sorry for untight sentences--I have been sleep deprived and am also on deadline crazy typing/creatingIAMCRAZYRIGHTNOW!GETCHOCOLATE)

Anyway, one of the family wanted to live in the house, and the state said they didn't have the money to run it as a historic house for tours. So it remained empty. They visited the house sometimes to clear out vagrants. The house grew into disrepair . . . all that beauty, all that history lost.

My second story is I LOVE that old B&W movie, Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte! So rich in Louisiana atmosphere!

Enter me for your book. I want to win!

I think you've closed this giveaway, which is fine. I mostly wanted to say I once tried to visit Louisiana but kept getting sidetracked by all the pretty wildflowers on the side of the road between Dallas and the Louisiana border. I'm going to have to read this book now, so I can see what I missed.

Congrats on recent good reviews!
