Remember this amusing quote from Monday?
"There are three rules to writing a novel and nobody knows what they are." William Somerset Maugham
Look no further! Harlan Coban has an article in the Wall Street Journal titled, "Want to be a Great Writer? Follow these Three Steps".
It begins like this:
'“I don’t like writing. I like having written.” Ah, the paradox.'
A great essay from a writer who's been in the trenches for a long time.
About 20 books worth. :-)

Excellent article and so true.
Glad you enjoyed it! I love reading what other writers say about writing. It's addictive, actually.
Take, for instance, blogging . . . writers talking about writing. Addictive!
That's a wonderful quote. But I like the writing, too.
Great, challenging article. Thanks for the link. It occurs to me that one of my steps in writing is procrastinating. At least I tend to think it's a step. I need to face that it's really procrastination. ;)
